The Teaching Artists

Working with professional artists has always been central to DIAE's program. The teaching artist helps bridge the gap between the artwork and the perceiver. They choose key features of the artwork and design activities that enable teachers and students to more fully understand these features.

The insight, commitment, knowledge, and love these artists bring to their work are cornerstones of the program. Teachers say partnering with a teaching artist in the classroom provides richer units of study for their students.
